No Downtime Day: 4 pm.
Hi, everyone; thought I'd post another short update from my experimental "No Downtime Day," in which I am trying to go for 16 hours without engaging in any "vegging" activities, such as television, goofing off online, etc. I've gotten lots done since my last update (10:30 this morning, via video; nice to see it actually worked), although nothing very exciting; just the end of my Loop bicycle adventure, then a train ride home, and then an afternoon of getting computer work done. And now I'm just having a little late lunch/early dinner, whatever you want to call it, some tortellini pasta salad I picked up along the way today, while checking out all the photographers at Flickr I track each day (about 165 now), otherwise known there as my Contacts list, done very efficiently through the must-have freeware <a href="http://1001.kung-foo.tv">1001.
So what's left for me between now and around 11pm when I go to bed? Well, I have yet a couple of more errands to run; more computer work to do (always more computer work to do); about 50 pages of a novel I want to get through tonight (EM Forster's Howards End, to be specific); lots of photos to upload to Flickr, which I've been putting off for awhile; and I'm sure other stuff too, that I'll be thinking of as the evening progresses. Anyway, so far so good -- it's been ten hours now since the experiment started, and I haven't felt the need yet to spend any time vegging. I feel so productive! I AM SUCH A PATHETIC NERD!
